Hello guys! Well, today's practise is as usual, only that all the conductors are late! =X So We auto piloted some songs like Matsuri while Hui Hsing tapped the beats. Then finally, Jun Wei came to the rescue. Okay then we started our "formal" practise. Well, it's not really say "formal"! Yew Tee has never been formal before..... Am I right? Woops! Then Mr Wong came. Then practise as usual, so nothing much to talk about.
Table games! Started with some sort of..... "speed" games? Don't know what's that! Ha Ha. Today all games were played using UNO cards! All of us got involved in all these games, so you won't see many many people clustered together in groups. That's great, you know =D
After that we played "Heart Attack". Some of them got their hands numbed, because somebody hits too hard. Ha Ha. Well, you know who you are~ Then we changed to a game of MURDERER. The ones who get the "joker" card is the Murderer, the ones with "ace" are the Ma Da a.k.a the Police, and the number cards are the passer-bys. Ha Ha. Wen Qiao 重色轻友 by suspecting everyone but Loo Xin even though she's the Murderer. Ha Ha. After that we changed to "The Passing Coins Game". Everyone sits in a circle and sing a tune while passing the coin around, and the "monkey" sitting in the middle of the circle has to guess who is holding the coin. If he/she guesses wrongly, he/she has to sit in the circle forever until he/she guesses correctly. It's fun if you understand the rules!
Okay after the table games(or maybe floor games?), some went home while some went to the Yew Tee food court to eat. We always go there to eat, because it's just beside Yew tee MRT station, so it's more convenient. Come join us for dinner if you are eating out after practise. Provided you can stay out till quite late, because we always talk random things after eating and entertain each other. Oh that sounds weird. Entertain each other? O.o Nothing!
After the dinner, we all went back home. Ta Dah! End of Saturday!

Same thing, remember to go for hiking tomorrow if you can make it! Bye Bye guys =D

The WATER WAR. FUN! Sorry it's kind of dark!
---

Hello guys! Today we went for hiking again! Response improved (=
Everyone was excited about the climb when we reached there, but not long after..... It started to drizzle. So we can't go for a hike anymore. We walked up the main road, and took shelter at a.. shelter. It was still drizzling then, so we took some photos here and there while enjoying the beautiful scenery from the shelter. The quarry was beautiful (X2), and plus the drizzle effect forming the ripples, it was bewitching. Oh PLEASE you should see that. Really! Okay if you really want to see this maybe next week we can come earlier and go there again. Ha Ha. But I'm sure no body will come so early! I'd rather sleep. Oops!
Then some of us played around with Derrick (Mr Wong's youngest son! SO CUTE!), some chatted, and some did lame things like mimicking the 千手观音. Loo Xin was in front, followed by En Yu and Jin Jing and then Hui Chi. And last but not least, MR WONG. Kind of extra, actually. Oops! He looked LOL-ish. Ha Ha. After that, someone (I think it was Song Sim) started using a plastic fan to splash people with water, and then this WATER WAR started. Song Sim splashed Yik Fung with water and..... He ALMOST died! Yik Fung was the water pro back at BLGPS. Armed with a trusty black spray water bottle, Yik Fung aimed at Oh Siao Siao with his bottle! And PSST! Oh siao siao fished out his ORANGE BOTTLE and threaten to pour water all over him. Ok but he didn't do that.
Seeing the fun, Leonard used his bottle and POURED water all over oss. LOL. And that's the water war. EVERYONE except some very innocent ones joined in(oh dear I insulted a lot of people)!
After "camping" at the shelter for so long, we finally went back! Went to YTCCCO room to talk crap and discuss where to eat. In the end, we went to Kranji to eat. The Bak Kut Teh was yummy! Yes and it was home Sweet Home after 1/6 day of fun! =D
Hope to see more people next week! Come and hike if you have nothing to do on a lazy sunday afternoon! Don't stare at your computer screen playing Maple or War craft etc. Come and join us in our wonderful hiking trips =D

HELLO GUYS! Mr Wong and Rebecca was late today, so Xian Wei(Mr Bean!) conducted first..... A lot of people LAUGHED throughout the whole song, because of our dear joker wei wei! His facial expressions were like..... HA HA HA? Ok never mind! Then Rebecca to the rescue! When she reached the CO room, xian wei immediately passed the "drumstick" to her. Rebecca's conducting skills are really improving*claps*!
By the way, there is a new little girl, new little boy and a new guy at Yew tee! Her name is Eileen(ruan), the little boy's name is Qi An, and the guy's name is Gladwin. Let's welcome them =D
Yes and we practiced the blog song: 长城随想曲. Do not judge a book by it's covers! It's a nice and difficult song altogether. Jia You! Practise makes perfect - or maybe nearer to perfect! Ha Ha.
Sorry there are no photos today! Tune in tomorrow for more on the hiking. Please come! 4 p.m. At the foot of Bukit Timah Hill. See you! =D

P.S: Sorry Qi An I spelt your name wrongly =X thanks mr wong for telling!

SUMMIT! =D

---

Went for hiking today! The attendance was not very good today..... Hope that it can improve next week =D. En Yu and Jun Wei came late, so Jing's mother went to fetch them up to the summit by the main road. On the way up to the summit, we kept joking about Y iBin(sotong). Oops no offence =\! Today was special, no one talked about the water though, because Mr Wong's not there! He and SS needed to go to a performance. So, yah. And the few late ones reached the summit below 15minutes! Maybe it was because there were no one to motivate us. Ha Ha. And partially becaused there were more talking about sotong. More talking less walking. Ha Ha.

After the hike, we went to somewhere else to eat! Kranji, I think? No more pratas = no more dirrhea! We ate at the seafood restraunt. Not really a restraunt, but that's what the sign said. Ha Ha. Ok, so sotong topic again! The whole topic that day was: Sotong! Ha Ha!

After the dinner, we went to YT to pay up! Pay up pay up! The whole meal cost $66! We paid $3-5 each. The adults paid the most =\. At first they said that the people who came last have to treat all of us, but in the end..... Same paying up method. Ha Ha.

Hope to see >30 people next week! Hey and we are serious =\. Bye! =D

Some of us sight readed some songs, like 凤阳花鼓and 情雯曲. Er hus remember to go home and practise your..... sliding? Ha. Hui Chi brought some new Santa hats and Reindeer body parts(fresh from cold storage :\) exclusively for the Mcs, crews and performers for this coming December concert! Yay, we'll have great photos coming up on this blog!
After the practise, we celebrated the November babies' birthday! Happy birthday to Hui Chi, Zhong Hao, Qian Hui, Lih Lin and Jin Jing! The chocolate icing cake was BEAUTIFULLY YUMMY. The only birthday babies present today was HC, QH and JJ, so they got to blow the candles and make wishes =D
After that, some of them checked out the props for this coming recital and mass took photos of themselves trying on them. Oh poor wen qiao can't try them out because his strict teacher Victor taught him sheng. Ha Ha. And this crazy OSS tried out the reindeer anthers and nose, and tried to mimic a pirate..... With orange braces. Oh good try, but one look at you and you're still song sim. :\

Hello guys! I've uploaded a few pictures on yesterday's hiking trip - The people who turned up increased! *clap clap*
Stella was feeling unwell, so Jin Jing's mother accompanied her and walked up the hill by the main road.
Then we continued walking walking and walking..... Till we reached the mineral water place. There, we cooled our selves with the cooling water. The water was not very cold that day, because the weather was hot. If you come on a cool day, the water will surely be cold! Then, Mr Wong repeated his "speech" about where the water came from and so on. 我的导游是明星指挥!
Finally, we reached the long flight of stairs leading to the SUMMIT! We cheered each other on and ..... ta dah! We're ON the summit =D! We relaxed and took some photos there. Cool! Stella and JJ's mum reached the summit very shortly after we reached! Wow that was real fast! =O
After the whole hiking, we went to the roti prata stall to eat again. The food there was EXCEPTIONALLY NICE! Yum Yum=D The cheese mushroom prata was YUMMY. Yes after that we went home and..... End of Sunday =D
Sorry if I missed anything out, and sorry for not posting yesterday! Bye guys=)

Welcome to Yew Tee Community Club Chinese Orchestra's blogger. Yew Tee Community Club Chinese Orchestra was set up in April 2003, with the support and sponsorship of, then Minister of Transport, Member of Parliament Mr Yeo Cheow Tong. The pioneer group of 25 youth musicians soon grew to become a promising youth Orchestra of 60 young music talents. Under the baton of Mr Endrey Wong, the Yew Tee CC Chinese Orchestra gets together for weekly practices on Saturdays. In the past six years, the group has been a familiar sight at numerous community events. Its annual Community Concerts were always looked forward to and enjoyed by many Yew Tee residents. Bi-annual ticketed public concerts had also sold well. In December 2005, the Yew Tee CC Chinese Orchestra launched its quarterly Recital Series, with the dual aim of training and preparing its soloists for bigger concerts, and bringing Chinese Orchestra music in smaller but more regular doses to the community. This Recital Series is still going strong. The success of the Recital Series prompted the Orchestra to launch its Saturday Afternoon Delights on 3 January 2009. This regular 15-minutes solo or small ensemble performances at the Atrium of the Yew Tee Community Club, before the Orchestra’s weekly practices, have brought much joy to residents attending activities or courses at the CC. Initiated by members themselves, the Yew Tee CC Chinese Orchestra had also started its own Community Involvement Programme in 2005, with performances and interactions at Homes for the Elderly and Senior Activities Centres, including a very meaningful session at the Dover Park Hospice during the Mid-Auntumn Festival in 2008. Invitations for guest-performances such as the Gek Poh Ville 10th Anniversary Concert 17 February 2008, and local music exchange programmes such as the Soka Chinese Music Exchange Concert 2006, had given members of the Yew Tee CC Chinese Orchestra local exposure beyond Yew Tee. In June 2008, the Orchestra held music exchanges with schools in Taiping, Perak and Georgetown, Penang. This learning journey to Malaysia benefited our members in many ways. Although young and inexperienced, the Yew Tee CC Chinese Orchestra had participated in the bi-annual National Chinese Music Competition organised by the National Arts Council, in 2004, 2006 and 2008. Although the group did not win at these competitions, comments from the judges were encouraging. The Yew Tee Community Club Chinese Orchestra had a very active and fulfilling first five years. It has succeeded in bringing traditional Chinese music to the neighbourhood, and helped bring more vibrancy to the community. Amongst the members, sense of commitments and bonds are strong, and morale is high. The challenge now is to nurture members’ commitments and morale, and continually develop and grow this group of young and promising music talents .
