PURPLE DAY

I wish..... I wish.....
I wish for unlimited wishes!

-----
HELLO GUSY! Yesterday was the purple day! A lot of you don't have purple clothes, well but some got! Actually dark pink is also counted purple right? I think so! It's okay if you don't have purple, enjoy the purple picture!
We will have a lot of new songs and performances coming up, so everyone jia you! Chinese New Year performance is just round the corner, and we will have estimated thousands of people watching..... =O All the best everyone. Ha Ha.
Yes and Mr Wong invited a conductor over to take over for a while yesterday, because Mr Wong was late. The invited conductor's name is Mr Lee! Let's put our hands together to welcome him (if you clap now your mum's going to look at you with that what-are-you-doing expression)
We celebrated the January babies' birthday yesterday! Happy birthday Sotong and golden dragon, aka Yi Bin and Jin Long! =) The cake was yummy! Thank you welfare managers. Mr Wong went wild again and smeared cream on yibin and jinlong's forehead -_- But they didn't seem to mind! In fact posed for the pictures! Ha Ha.
Let's end this post with some very interesting stuff!
'Stewardesses' is the longest word typed with only the left hand
And 'lollipop' is the longest word typed with your right hand. (Bet you tried this out mentally, didn't you?)
No word in the English language rhymes with month, orange, silver, or purple.
'Dreamt' is the only English word that ends in the letters 'mt'. (Are you doubting this?)
Our eyes are always the same size from birth, but our nose and ears never stop growing.
The sentence: 'The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog' uses every letter of the alphabet. (Now, you KNOW you're going to try this out for accuracy, right? I bet most of you know already, and use it to practise your typing!)
The words 'racecar,' 'kayak' and 'level' are the same whether they are read left to right or right to left (palindromes) (Yep, I knew you were going to 'do' this one.)
There are only four words in the English language which end in 'dous': tremendous, horrendous, stupendous, and hazardous. (You're not doubting this, are you?)
There are two words in the English language that have all five vowels in order: 'abstemious' and 'facetious.' (Yes, admit it, you are going to say, a e i o u)
TYPEWRITER is the longest word that can be made using the letters only on one row of the keyboard. (All you typists are going to test this out)
A cat has 32 muscles in each ear(I know you would like that).
A goldfish has a memory span of three seconds. (are you suspecting your teacher?)
A 'jiffy' is an actual unit of time for 1/100th of a second.
A shark is the only fish that can blink with both eyes (can it play "murderer"?)
A snail can sleep for three years. (I know some people that could do this too.!)
Almonds are a member of the peach family.
An ostrich's eye is bigger than its brain. (I know some people like that also)
Babies are born without kneecaps. They don't appear until the child reaches 2 to 6 years of age.
February 1865 is the only month in recorded history not to have a full moon.
In the last 4,000 years, no new animals have been domesticated.
If the population of China walked past you, 8 abreast, the line would never end because of the rate of reproduction.
Leonardo Da Vinci invented the scissors
Peanuts are one of the ingredients of dynamite!
Rubber bandslast longer when refrigerated.
The average person's left hand does 56% of the typing.
The cruise liner, QE 2, moves only six inches for each gallon of diesel that it burns.
The microwave was invented after a researcher walked by a radar tube and a chocolate bar melted in his pocket. (Good thing he did that.)
The winter of 1932 was so cold that Niagara Falls froze completely solid.
There are more chickens than people in the world.
Winston Churchill was born in a ladies' room during a dance.
Women blink nearly twice as much as men.
well actually I got this from an e-mail, but I'll post it anyway because I think it's very very interesting!!
See you next saturday! What's the colour for next saturday by the way? after purple is..... Indigo?! But I bet many of us don't have. Ha Ha. If thats the case maybe let's all wear black. Will consider. Update later! Bye Bye =)

Welcome to Yew Tee Community Club Chinese Orchestra's blogger. Yew Tee Community Club Chinese Orchestra was set up in April 2003, with the support and sponsorship of, then Minister of Transport, Member of Parliament Mr Yeo Cheow Tong. The pioneer group of 25 youth musicians soon grew to become a promising youth Orchestra of 60 young music talents. Under the baton of Mr Endrey Wong, the Yew Tee CC Chinese Orchestra gets together for weekly practices on Saturdays. In the past six years, the group has been a familiar sight at numerous community events. Its annual Community Concerts were always looked forward to and enjoyed by many Yew Tee residents. Bi-annual ticketed public concerts had also sold well. In December 2005, the Yew Tee CC Chinese Orchestra launched its quarterly Recital Series, with the dual aim of training and preparing its soloists for bigger concerts, and bringing Chinese Orchestra music in smaller but more regular doses to the community. This Recital Series is still going strong. The success of the Recital Series prompted the Orchestra to launch its Saturday Afternoon Delights on 3 January 2009. This regular 15-minutes solo or small ensemble performances at the Atrium of the Yew Tee Community Club, before the Orchestra’s weekly practices, have brought much joy to residents attending activities or courses at the CC. Initiated by members themselves, the Yew Tee CC Chinese Orchestra had also started its own Community Involvement Programme in 2005, with performances and interactions at Homes for the Elderly and Senior Activities Centres, including a very meaningful session at the Dover Park Hospice during the Mid-Auntumn Festival in 2008. Invitations for guest-performances such as the Gek Poh Ville 10th Anniversary Concert 17 February 2008, and local music exchange programmes such as the Soka Chinese Music Exchange Concert 2006, had given members of the Yew Tee CC Chinese Orchestra local exposure beyond Yew Tee. In June 2008, the Orchestra held music exchanges with schools in Taiping, Perak and Georgetown, Penang. This learning journey to Malaysia benefited our members in many ways. Although young and inexperienced, the Yew Tee CC Chinese Orchestra had participated in the bi-annual National Chinese Music Competition organised by the National Arts Council, in 2004, 2006 and 2008. Although the group did not win at these competitions, comments from the judges were encouraging. The Yew Tee Community Club Chinese Orchestra had a very active and fulfilling first five years. It has succeeded in bringing traditional Chinese music to the neighbourhood, and helped bring more vibrancy to the community. Amongst the members, sense of commitments and bonds are strong, and morale is high. The challenge now is to nurture members’ commitments and morale, and continually develop and grow this group of young and promising music talents .
