Hey people! I recieved this email about appreciating life from my friend and thought it might be nice to share it with you! Its written in chinese Fan Ti Zi so i shall translate for the sake of any possible kantangs, banana, ang mo pai that is reading! haha. I sort of added in some extra stuff to it, but anyway... ENJOY! =D

In the morning, the annoying and piercing sound of the alarm awakens me
But because of that, i know that i had lived another day,
and is still alive.

I have a large amount of electric bills to pay
But that indicates that I have had
enjoyed my air conditioner nightly

I had to park my car at the furthest parking lot,
but that shows that i could still walk,
and is privilledged to have a car.

At the end of the tiring day, my mascules achs with pain,
but that shows that i still
have the abitlity to work hard

I have many complains towards tha government's actions,
Because that implies that there is democracy,
and freedom in speech

I pay the tax,
Because that proves that
I have a job

The clothes are pilling up, waiting for me to wash them,
Because that shows that
I can afford these much clothings.

At the church, I was irritated, when a girl with an awful voice began singing behind me,
Becuase I have the gift to hear.

I have a lawn to moll, windows waiting for me to be wiped, and water hose to be repaired,
Because I have a house,
a home.

Clothes seem to have shrank,
Because I am eating well.

There is a shodow casting behind my back, accompanying my labour,
Because the sun is shinning upon me.

I appreciate life <3

Lastly, I am thankful for the large amount of junk mail i recieve,
Because that proves that
I have many friends who are thinking of me =)

Well, thats all for now... when i recieved this mail, i was very touched, it really made my day, and i hope it did so for you too! See you guys this saturday at Yew Tee!! Practice is as usual but we'll be having Anniversary dinner from 5:30pm to 7:30pm! So please come and try not to be late! =D

HELLO GUYS! Today, we had a performance at yt mrt station, titled "Yew Tee CC Chinese Orchestra Community Concert 2008"! Let's me summarize what happened today!
So practise was as usual! Xian Wei didn't come to conduct today because he was stuck at army, cannot come out! Hope Mas Selamat gets caught soon!!! Please please please refer to the March 2's blog post! Not the one on the concert, but the ne below the concert one. Ha Ha. Thank you (= Together, we shall play a part as fellow Singaporeans! Help clear traffic at woodlands checkpoint and save those poor armies and polices from the cold weather guarding the forests!
So! Jun Wei took over xian wei and conducted during the performance! And all of us were so worried that he would oversleep and "fly kite"! =D
So we had a quick run through of all the songs, and we headed for the mrt station!!
We set up the chairs and instruments, and did a soundtrack there
There's finally a change in dinner. WE HAD CHAR SIEW RICE TODAY!! Finally! After so many years of chicken rice as dinner.....
We all got ready for performance at around 7pm. At 7.30 plus, Mr Yeo walked in the hard court, and ytco greeted him with the first five notes from 皮黄调! 6 3 5 7~ 6!
Right, hm.. Ok! Let me review the program to you guys again! =D
合奏:

旱天雷
多啦A梦
城里的月光

唢呐领奏:林慧池

姑苏行

合奏:

凤阳花鼓
JunWei 带动 the audiences by signalling them to clap along to Doreamon! Yes the response was great! haha!
At the end of the concert, Peggie and Mr Yeo came over and congratulate us, and Mr Yeo said our music has improved! Yay! Peggie said that it's great to hear this kind of music even without Mr Wong conducting! But Mr Wong really did put in a lot of effort in the practises and programming, so..
THREE CHEERS FOR YTCO!
whooo!!
Thank you Mr Wong =D
Right, see you guys next week! It might be games day for next week, I'm not so sure of it yet! So, please tune in! =D

YO GUYS! Today's recital's rehearsal was kind of hectic eh? Ha Ha. But it turned out fine in the end! Except for the MC Script! Stupid JinJing printed out the wrong file. And En Yu did the booklet wrongly. Ha Ha, but at least they learnt from their mistakes! That's the main point (=

SOLOISTS! YOU GUYS WERE GREAT! ONWARD REBECCA! YTCO WILL MISS YOU!! Hope you will find your happiness! Wish you all the best (=. And, to soloists: Hope you guys like the cactus! The cactus is good, because when your water supply is cut, you can cut the cactus and drink the water in it. But heard it's bitter? Ha Ha. I'm not really sure. Hee Hee.

Yes, and at the end of the recital, Mr Wong gave his speech from the bottom of his heart.....
He was surprised! Surprised that two guys can play romeo and juliet together. Ha Ha. I shall not say who is romeo and who is juliet. I promised Jun Wei not to say! Jun Wei, I won't betray you...
And yes, he never knew Neh Neh can play 众手浇开幸福花! And, another surprise!
The two guys can actually do last minute practise and go solo straight away. Please do not try this if you have a solo next time! Don't make Mr Wong "lau kuai". Ha Ha.

And, Mr Wong received a call from our pop star JJ in early afternoon saying she wanted to buy cactus! And she said cactus can last longer~ And if she bought flowers, they will surely break, and end up in the rubbish bin in the end. But who dares to break a cactus eh? *evil smile*
After listening to her, Mr Wong asked JJ to buy durians instead. Great, hey ICs for the June recital! You can buy durians for JJ! Ha Ha.
I called her and she wanted XO durians. Hey ICs for the june recital, you know what to do~
Hint: XO durians: 1 for $20 available at Balestier =D

+++

Now for the practise! we learnt a new song titled "The Great Verdigris Bell" written by Joshua Chan! He wrote the syf piece Winds Cresenti too! How cool can that be =D Anyway, the sight reading..... CAN BE IMPROVED! JIA YOU YTCO! ai pia jia eh yia!

SEE YOU GUYS TOMORROW! we must reach YTCC at 9.30am! Attire is ALL BLACK! No more cacti for presents =D Ok! See you guys tomorrow!

REMEMBER TO COME FOR THE JUNE'S RECITAL! MR WONG WILL BE SOLOING ERHU FOR THE LAST TIME! So you guys must turn up to see. But he will still be playing erhu. Not soloing only. But he's still continuing his suona! MR WONG! WE SUPPORT YOU! =D
JUNE'S RECITAL IS A MUS WATCH RECITAL!

----------

Welcome to Yew Tee Community Club Chinese Orchestra's blogger. Yew Tee Community Club Chinese Orchestra was set up in April 2003, with the support and sponsorship of, then Minister of Transport, Member of Parliament Mr Yeo Cheow Tong. The pioneer group of 25 youth musicians soon grew to become a promising youth Orchestra of 60 young music talents. Under the baton of Mr Endrey Wong, the Yew Tee CC Chinese Orchestra gets together for weekly practices on Saturdays. In the past six years, the group has been a familiar sight at numerous community events. Its annual Community Concerts were always looked forward to and enjoyed by many Yew Tee residents. Bi-annual ticketed public concerts had also sold well. In December 2005, the Yew Tee CC Chinese Orchestra launched its quarterly Recital Series, with the dual aim of training and preparing its soloists for bigger concerts, and bringing Chinese Orchestra music in smaller but more regular doses to the community. This Recital Series is still going strong. The success of the Recital Series prompted the Orchestra to launch its Saturday Afternoon Delights on 3 January 2009. This regular 15-minutes solo or small ensemble performances at the Atrium of the Yew Tee Community Club, before the Orchestra’s weekly practices, have brought much joy to residents attending activities or courses at the CC. Initiated by members themselves, the Yew Tee CC Chinese Orchestra had also started its own Community Involvement Programme in 2005, with performances and interactions at Homes for the Elderly and Senior Activities Centres, including a very meaningful session at the Dover Park Hospice during the Mid-Auntumn Festival in 2008. Invitations for guest-performances such as the Gek Poh Ville 10th Anniversary Concert 17 February 2008, and local music exchange programmes such as the Soka Chinese Music Exchange Concert 2006, had given members of the Yew Tee CC Chinese Orchestra local exposure beyond Yew Tee. In June 2008, the Orchestra held music exchanges with schools in Taiping, Perak and Georgetown, Penang. This learning journey to Malaysia benefited our members in many ways. Although young and inexperienced, the Yew Tee CC Chinese Orchestra had participated in the bi-annual National Chinese Music Competition organised by the National Arts Council, in 2004, 2006 and 2008. Although the group did not win at these competitions, comments from the judges were encouraging. The Yew Tee Community Club Chinese Orchestra had a very active and fulfilling first five years. It has succeeded in bringing traditional Chinese music to the neighbourhood, and helped bring more vibrancy to the community. Amongst the members, sense of commitments and bonds are strong, and morale is high. The challenge now is to nurture members’ commitments and morale, and continually develop and grow this group of young and promising music talents .
