Hey yo to you guys again! I'm back with a looong post for the third (1st June) and fourth (2nd June) day!

1st June 2008

We had our final buffet breakfast at Legend Inn, before we checked out and set off for our final exchange trip to 马来西亚槟城州威南华都中学! The theme of the exchange trip is 两个国度,一种情怀 — 跨国华乐交流会

On reaching the school, we were all surprised by their welcome method! All of them lined up and cheered us into their school, and when we got off the coach, they immediately came forward to help us carry our instruments into a classroom! Then, we (YTCO and JSSCO) signed their T-shirts for them, and proceeded to their hall for the exchange program! There, all of us settled down, and 华都中学校长, 陈荣辉, YTCCCO Chairman Miss Peggie Chua, BBM and Jurong Secondary School CO’s Teacher In Charge Mrs Juliana Ng gave speeches. After that, there was a gift exchange ceremony, and the exchange program started with our chairman doing a 鸣锣仪式.

We performed for 华都中学,and vice versa! Many of us said the Zhong Ruan solo-ist from 华都 is good! Haha!

So, after the program, 华都中学 performed a small drama for us! It was really funny and yeap – we really enjoyed it! Oh, and I noticed something – the 华都 students like to quote sentences from the Singapore movies like 老师嫁老大 ( 拍子要快,要准,要美 ~ — Mark Lee) and I not Stupid (It’s for your own good – Terry’s mother).

After that, we all danced the Chicky Dance!! Some 华都 students demonstrated how to do the dance, and then, we all joined in the fun! It was a really good ice breaking game, as after that, I noticed more people starting asking for each other’s contacts!!

Yes especially Jun Wei! After the ice breaking game, he sportingly agreed to go up on “stage” and entertain all of us! We discussed many topics like how did Leonard get all his nicknames, and why is Zong Han’s nickname bushes and many many other topics! And the 华都中学 students taught us how to dance the 茶壶 dance and the 椰子树dance! And, Jun Wei pole danced with Yik Fung! Yik Fung was the pole (naturally) and Jun Wei was the sassy dancer! – so much that I can’t remember! Hur Hur.

After that, we had the same game from the second day’s teabreak – The passing food game! And after that, it was time to go home again.

This time, many of us were very reluctant, (especially Jun Wei, again) as we all “heated up” during all the interactive games, and had to say goodbye after all the fun and laughter! )=

The 华都中学 students were very reluctant too! Some of them even came up to our coaches to bid farewell! Touching!!!

Oh yeah, and speaking of Jun Wei, I have some more 料s to 爆! Jun Wei actually sms-ed four girls he met from the exchange programs and don’t even know who was he sms-ing! And more breaking news – A girl he met from the exchange program sms-ed a really mushy message to him! It was something like “I miss you, do you miss me? So boring lah, want me go to see you?” Sorry Jun Wei if typed wrongly, but all the same! Ha Ha.

After the exchange program with 华都中学华乐团, we went to Penang! We visited the botanic gardens there! There was a small… What do you call it? Drain? Haha! Anyway, we played in the “drain”, and many of us were soaked!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hui Chi jie even wore her cock shoes into the water, and the most curious part is she did it willingly! Whoa~

Anyway, Mr Wong was trying to get as many people as he can down the water, and thus, we all charged at him, but too bad – He ran away before we could do anything! And then there was this fight between Leonard and WQ! I don’t know what happened – but when I looked, I saw two men trying their best to push each other into the water!

After the trip to the botanic gardens, we went to visit the Temple of Sleeping Buddha! The sleeping Buddha was magnificent! Gosh! There, majority of us went to 求签! Of course, some got good lots, some got bad lots. For those who got the Bad lots, don’t take it too seriously – your future will change as you grow! As Mr Wong said, the lots are for you to mend your mistakes! So don’t be too disappointed yeah? If you interpret correctly, you will see some good things in the lot, because the English translation is sometimes wrong!

After that, we departed for Sunway hotel! THE HOTEL WAS REALLY, REALLY NICE!!! Mr Wong brought swimming trunks with him, so he could go to swim! Since the first day, he kept saying he wanted to go to swim, and now, his wish has finally come true! So… Mr Wong! How many laps did you swim? How many Kilo grams did you lose? Ha Ha. =X

After checking in, we went for dinner, and then went for FREE AND EASY SHOPPING!! The night life of Penang is really full with activities eh, roadside stalls… crowded malls… yummy food… Wow!!

After the free-and-easy, we proceeded back to the hotel to pack up (sobs), and prepare for the check out for the next day )=

The night was still young! Some of us went out for supper! We got to try the Penang Laksa! The soup is very very different from Singapore’s laksa! It is something like… Tom Yam? Haha! And there’s this Penang Char Kuay Teow~ Actually right, I cannot taste any difference – Haha! Same as Singapore loh, except the kuay teow is really springy and soft! So it’s considered as very good! I rate it 5 beansprouts!

2nd June 2008

Had a buffet breakfast at Sunway hotel, with a totally different menu from Legend Inn! After checking out, we set off back to out homeland! Along the way, we visited 霹雳洞 and 顺安 Biscuit factory! Anyway, the most important part of the journey was in the coach!

During the journey, Mr Wong started a court proceeding!
Judge: our chairman
Expert: Mr Wong
Accused: Tie Ning
Prosecutor: Yik Fung
Defending lawyer: Jun Jie and Wen Qiao
Witnesses: Zi Xiang, Xian Wei, Zhi Kai’s mother, Mr Wong
Case: Tie Ning forgot to take her Er Hu with her after checking into Sunway hotel, and left it in the lobby; Zhi Kai’s mother saw the Er Hu and handed it to Mr Wong. Later in the night, during the Exco meeting, Tie Ning enters the meeting room, but didn’t notice the Er Hu leaning on a wall, despite Mr Wong’s attempts to divert her attention to the Er Hu by staring and smiling at her, and holding her Er Hu in his hand.

It was really funny – holding a trial because of an Er Hu, but anyway, it was… Can I say entertaining? Oops!

And so… Yik Fung, Jun Jie and Wen Qiao argued, but in the end, the prosecutor wins! The punishment for the accused will be 10weeks of Duty roster (sweeping the floor of YTCO practice room)!

After visiting the biscuit factory, Victor, Wen Qiao and Jun Wei bought a big lollipop for themselves!! On the coach, we had a lollipop licking competition! The rule is really straightforward – Contestants can only LICK the lollipop. No sucking or chewing is allowed.

Oh, and there was also another small lollipop (those chaupa chops) competition between Jeannine, Angela and Kah Kay! The rule is: the last person to finish her lollipop wins! No one can take her lollipop out from her mouth unless swallowing saliva.

So let’s go on the competition! During the first round, Wen Qiao was obviously leading, as the place where he was licking lost its colour already! Victor was second, and Jun Wei, busy sms-ing his new “girlfriends” was obviously the last! When Mr Wong interviewed the contestants, they could only speak in “tongues”, thus it was really hard to interpret what they were actually saying.

So! After half an hour of continuous and serious licking, the winner of the first round is…………………………………….. Mr Wen!
And the prize for Mr Wen is one packet of “Xian Zha Bor” (山楂) from Mr Wong!

After a few minutes’ break, the second round of the competition starts! This time, contestants can request supporters to “call-in” to support them! M1 Wen Qiao was in the lead: Part of his lollipop was gone! M2 Jun Wei’s lollipop… was exactly the same shape as starting, while M3 Victor Tay’s lollipop was getiing thinner and thinner!

Some supporters of M3 Victor Tay were very kind to help him wipe off the saliva and help him get water! M1 Wen Qiao got a few “help” from supporters! However, sad to say, no body bothered to help M2 Jun Wei!! No supporters at all! Only got jeers! Ha Ha.

So, after another half an hour of ferocious licking (M1 Wen Qiao claimed that his tongue was bleeding! Mr Wong, actually we should help him apply the 青草由 on his tongue right? Hahahah!), the final round’s results are out! And the winner with the most votes is……………………………… M3 VICTOR TAY!

And the prize for our winner is another lollipop from our chairman herself!

Oh by the way, when interviewed, all of them stated that they will never ever eat a big lollipop again! Well, we shall see~

Anyway! Some outside news for you!

#1 breaking news! Wanna know how many admirers called and messaged Jun Wei during the Malaysia trip?
#2 breaking news! Wanna know another casualty? Wanna know who was it?
#3 breaking news! WHY? Did Wen Qiao screamed and shouted at Mr Wong, and YET, Mr Wong treated him so kindly?
#4 breaking news! We finally know who Jin Long’s admirer is! Wanna know who? Watch out for a coming video to prove the news!
#5 breaking news! Why did Jin Long use $600 to buy back his own pouch?
#6 breaking news! What happened to our cute Mahjong (Tong zi) in the immigration checkpoint?
#7 breaking news! Wanna know who is Flirt King number 2???
#8 breaking news! Wanna know who will let Flirt King “Lau Kuay”?
àCheck it all out in the coming posts!!!!

Well, that’s it for our Malaysia Trip!!!!!!!!!!! Yay!!! Peggie! We love you! You are a kind, pretty, nice, organized and great chairman! Mr Wong! We love you too! You are the most handsome, funny, nice.. All the nice words you can find in the dictionary! Can we have another trip? This time by air!! Ha Ha.

All right then, see you this coming practice! Buh bye!!!!!

Hello everyone! I am back again! To friends from Malaysia, welcome to YTCO's blog again! I know you guys are waiting for me! how touching. So.. I believe you guys are looking forward to the 爆料s right? Well, in this case, I’m so sorry! There was no time for any news reports on second day, as we spent most of the time in 华联国中 doing music exchanges! So now, let’s talk about… Second day!

31st May 2008

We assembled in the lobby at 7am for a buffet breakfast in the hotel. There, the parents and siblings of YTCO members had a free-and-easy morning after the breakfast, while we set out to 华联国中 for the music exchange program!

When we reached there, we (Jurong Secondary Chinese Orchestra and Yew Tee Chinese Orchestra) were led into their school hall to unload all our instruments and files. After that, 吉中佛教会华乐团 and 新民国中华乐团 arrived! All of us went out to have a mass photo taking session!

Together, together, together everyone! *HSM1 Song*

After that, the 华联校方代表 gave a speech, followed by 吉中佛教会华乐团's 代表 . After this, there was a gift exchange ceremony, and then the music exchange began!! We practiced together, and 陈老师 conducted the joined orchestra of YTCO and JSSCO! Three cheers for 陈老师!

After that, the parents and siblings of YTCO members were back, and we went for lunch! It was yummy! Then, we went back to 华联中学for a performance!! All went smoothly, and after the performance, we had a tea break! During the tea break, Mr Wong introduced a few members, and hosted a “game”! The game was really funny – the chosen ones had to pass food to another person using their mouths, and yes, other person has to use their mouths too! There were a lot of “no lah”s and “you go!” at first, but after that, many became sporting and joined in the funnnn!!! We also taught the other orchestras how to play our signature 海产拳!!!

Look at SDHH!! What's she doing? Ha Ha. Caught red handed!!!

When we had to leave for dinner, 我们为大家的友情而举杯共饮! YA...AAM SENG!

Good times always fly, and we had to go back shortly after the laughs (or “when it’s starting to get hot” – Jun Wei). We had a last photo taking session, and went for dinner!

Oh yeah, I have something to 爆: Our flirt King managed to get a lot of contacts (mostly – or I say ALL girls)!

The Exco had a meeting back in the hotel after dinner, and then the usual activity (room crashing) resumed!

That’s all for day 2! I will post Day 3 and 4 together tomorrow!! I've written like four pages (arial narrow, font size 12) in Microsoft word for tomorrow's post! So stay tuned, cause there are more 料s to 爆, and more fun and pictures tomorrow! Muahahahahha….

Hey yo guys!! Firstly, if you’re a friend from Malaysia, welcome to Yew Tee Community Club Chinese Orchestra’s blog! Next, if you’re already a YT member, then welcome back!!

How was the Malaysia Trip from 30th May till yesterday (2nd June)? It was fun wasn’t it (agree or face the wrath of Mr Wong. Ha Ha.)! Let’s talk about the first day of the Malaysia trip (Singapore – Perak)! We didn’t do a lot of things during the first day – Many things happened mostly in the coach!

30th May 2008
We assembled in YTCC at 6.45am (with panda eyes and blur looks), and set off to Tuas Checkpoint at 7.15 am to meet the Jurong-ians there. On the coach, our Music Director Mr Wong, and our chairman, Miss Peggie Chua, BBM briefed us on the itinerary. Before we reached the Tuas Checkpoint, our dear Yik Fung realized he left his precious passport in his travel bag! Haha!!

Oh yeah, and at the immigration hall, Yik Fung humiliated all people shorter than him(especially Mr Wong) by crossing over the railings without using his hands to support him!!! And the railing is about 1metre tall!! Mr Wong was like so “kek” la! Lol!

After all the custom checkings, we said “Farewell to Singapore!”, and “Here we come, Malaysia!!”

While we load the luggage..

Everyone going for the trip!

During the morning journey, we crapped, joked, sang and danced in the coach! Before lunch, we created a small news reporting group (although more like gossiping group) to report recent happenings during the trips and rumours on random people everyday! After lunch, we continued the gossiping, and changed the topic to Flirt King(Jun Wei) and his love history! We LOL-ed all the till dinner!!

The mysteries behind his disappearances were revealed as Mr Wong 爆 Firt King’s 料! And where did Mr Wong get all his information?? From his spies, of course! So next time, while you go dating secretly or doing almost anything, beware, cause you may be followed!!! I’m going to show you guys some latest news from Flirt king himself!!

-Last Christmas, Flirt King and Janet *ooh~* went to Orchard Road to “pa tor” and got caught by a one of Mr Wong’s spy!!!

-Next flirt target *drum roll*……….

*oops*

AND NOW, FOR THE MOST IMPORTANT PART!!!

-Flirt king is going get EVERYONE in yew tee Chinese orchestra a CHRISTMAS PRESENT!!

Yay!!! =D

主播, Jun Wei

On the bus

TIENING?! WHAT ARE YOU DOING??

Lunch -

Zhong Hao: IT'S MINE! DON'T SNATCH!!!

爆料,爆料!!

Do you believe this is a music camp meeting?! Ha Ha.

the 皇帝and his 宫女!! HAHAHA!

Jin Long: Flirt King number 2!

Mr Bean shakes hands with 老夫子!

The Legend Inn hotel

So after the whole gossiping session, we went for dinner in “老夫子” restaurant!

After dinner, we checked in to Legend Inn Taiping! The EXCO had a meeting, and after that, almost everyone crashed rooms till midnight – Almost the whole hotel was ours, as we were split into pairs and sorted into first, second and third floor rooms!

Well, that’s all for the first day! If you wanna know what happened on the second day, STAY TUNED, as I’m going to post the second day tomorrow – Promise! So now let’s all wait for the 料!!

Welcome to Yew Tee Community Club Chinese Orchestra's blogger. Yew Tee Community Club Chinese Orchestra was set up in April 2003, with the support and sponsorship of, then Minister of Transport, Member of Parliament Mr Yeo Cheow Tong. The pioneer group of 25 youth musicians soon grew to become a promising youth Orchestra of 60 young music talents. Under the baton of Mr Endrey Wong, the Yew Tee CC Chinese Orchestra gets together for weekly practices on Saturdays. In the past six years, the group has been a familiar sight at numerous community events. Its annual Community Concerts were always looked forward to and enjoyed by many Yew Tee residents. Bi-annual ticketed public concerts had also sold well. In December 2005, the Yew Tee CC Chinese Orchestra launched its quarterly Recital Series, with the dual aim of training and preparing its soloists for bigger concerts, and bringing Chinese Orchestra music in smaller but more regular doses to the community. This Recital Series is still going strong. The success of the Recital Series prompted the Orchestra to launch its Saturday Afternoon Delights on 3 January 2009. This regular 15-minutes solo or small ensemble performances at the Atrium of the Yew Tee Community Club, before the Orchestra’s weekly practices, have brought much joy to residents attending activities or courses at the CC. Initiated by members themselves, the Yew Tee CC Chinese Orchestra had also started its own Community Involvement Programme in 2005, with performances and interactions at Homes for the Elderly and Senior Activities Centres, including a very meaningful session at the Dover Park Hospice during the Mid-Auntumn Festival in 2008. Invitations for guest-performances such as the Gek Poh Ville 10th Anniversary Concert 17 February 2008, and local music exchange programmes such as the Soka Chinese Music Exchange Concert 2006, had given members of the Yew Tee CC Chinese Orchestra local exposure beyond Yew Tee. In June 2008, the Orchestra held music exchanges with schools in Taiping, Perak and Georgetown, Penang. This learning journey to Malaysia benefited our members in many ways. Although young and inexperienced, the Yew Tee CC Chinese Orchestra had participated in the bi-annual National Chinese Music Competition organised by the National Arts Council, in 2004, 2006 and 2008. Although the group did not win at these competitions, comments from the judges were encouraging. The Yew Tee Community Club Chinese Orchestra had a very active and fulfilling first five years. It has succeeded in bringing traditional Chinese music to the neighbourhood, and helped bring more vibrancy to the community. Amongst the members, sense of commitments and bonds are strong, and morale is high. The challenge now is to nurture members’ commitments and morale, and continually develop and grow this group of young and promising music talents .
